In recent years, Courtice has developed dramatically, and will continue along this upwards trend. While Courtice is often considered a suburban town, it has grown into much more than that. This community offers shopping areas, unique cafés and experiences, family-favourite restaurants, and beautiful walking paths.

Courtice is quite familiar with growth. Over the past two years, the Courtice Commons has been developed, offering quick and easy access to shops for Courtice residents. In addition, various condo development plans have been approved and begun construction throughout Courtice’s residential areas, accelerating the housing market within the town. Education remains at the forefront of Courtice’s values, with nine primary schools and two high schools available to residents. With so many ideas and opportunities available, Courtice is proudly one of Clarington’s thriving communities.

Courtice Transit-Oriented Community (TOC) and GO Station Area Secondary Plan

The Municipality of Clarington initiated the Courtice TOC and GO Station Area Secondary Plan in 2019 for the lands located in the south end of Courtice (north of Highway 401). These lands also include the future Courtice GO Station and the surrounding Major Transit Station Area.

Courtice Waterfront
and Energy Park

The Courtice Waterfront and Energy Park is a proposal that will develop an OPG headquarters in the heart of Courtice and bring over 2000 jobs to the area. This development will also involve an 18-hectare Municipal Park along the beautiful waterfront for residents and visitors to enjoy. This project is one of Clarington’s largest recent developments and will contribute to the economy and quality of life within Courtice.
